CHAPTER 13
Kusano and Yamashita’s car accident came as a shock to everyone standing close to them. When the news reached Shige, he had had to throw up. Koyama was trying his best to calm him down, telling him Kusano would be fine.

It had not passed more then less than an hour before both Kusano and Yamashita’s parents had arrived to the hospital. They got informed that Kusano was less wounded than Yamashita, since the truck had hit their car on Yamashita’s side. Both of the boys were now under surgery, so all they could do was wait.

Kusano’s surgery took less time since he was less seriously wounded. Both of his parents got up as their boy were rolled into his room.

“Is he going to be fine?” Mrs. Kusano asked the doctor as they had rolled Kusano into place.

“Yes, he will have to stay here until his wounds are healed enough to send him home, but yes, your son was extremely lucky” the doctor put up a smile. “He should be sleeping at least until the morning, do you want to go home or stay?”

“I could stay” Mr. Kusano said. “I suppose you have an easy made bed I can borrow for the night”

“Yes of course!” the doctor asked one of the nurses to go and get one for Mr. Kusano.

“Here you go” the nurse said and put the bed on the floor so it was lent to the wall.

“Thank you” Mr. Kusano said before they got joined by Mrs. Yamashita.

“Wh—what about my son? Is he going to be alright?”

The doctor turned around and placed an arm around Mrs. Yamashita’s shoulders, “Let’s go somewhere else hm?”

Neither the Kusano parents nor Mrs. Yamashita liked that sentence that much. Either it was because it was a private matter, or Yamashita was at the edge of not making it.

Opening his eyes slowly, Kusano woke up in a white room. His room was not white, and it certainly was not so quiet. And who was snoring? Kusano turned his head around slightly. “Dad?”

His dad shock awake and looked over at his son rubbing his eyes. “Hironori!” clearly his dad had to have a moment to think about where he was too, because it took him a few seconds to realise where he was. “How are you feeling?” his dad was now bending over his son, holding his hand.

“Tired…” Kusano said. “Where am I?”

“Hospital… you were in a car accident”

As his dad said ‘car accident’ he remembered Yamashita’s face. “Yama-chan!” Kusano shouted.

“Hush… relax okay?” his dad placed a hand on his son’s fore head.

“But where is Yama-chan? Is he okay?!” Kusano’s heart beat faster and faster.

“Relax please? We’ll get to Yamashita after you’ve calmed down!” his dad sounded harsh, but it was only because he was worried about his boy’s health.

Kusano sent is dad a nod.

“Good” Mr. Kusano smiled and squeezed Kusano’s hand.

The next couple of hours Kusano were being occupied by doctors and nurses. It was for his own good, but he just wanted to know what had happen to Yamashita.

Grabbing the nurse who passed him by the wrist he dragged her towards himself, still laying down. “Yamashita Tomohisa, wha—where is he?”

“In the room next door, please relax” she said as the grip around her wrist got tighter.

“How is he?!” Kusano did not want to relax, he wanted to see Yamashita!

“He is going to be all fine again, now” she took Kusano’s hand and layed it down his side. “Please relax? For your own sake, hm?”

The cuteness of the nurse was hard to resist anyway, so Kusano just nodded.

During the time Kusano spent at the hospital, he was not able to see Yamashita, which bothered him to the max. When Kusano asked his dad if he could go and see Yamashita, he had ignored him, just continued talking about the reason why they had crashed. The conclusion was that the truck had turned wrong in a swing and that it was its fault that the car accident had happen. So, neither Kusano nor Yamashita would be blamed for the accident.

“DAD!” Kusano threw a paper ball at his dad to make him turn around. “Can I please just go see him?!”

His dad turned around. “If you feel that you’re able to, then yes”

“Well I am, so can we just go?!” Kusano made an attempt to walk over to the hall, but fail. His stomach wound was too big and hurtful.

“Oi oi oi!” his dad came running over. “Not so quick okay? You can’t walk properly yet, your stomach wound is—”

Kusano interrupted him, “Too big, I KNOW! Can we just go?” It was not the meaning too, but a few tears ran down his cheeks as he finished his sentence.

“Yes yes yes!” his dad went into the living room to get Kusano’s wheelchair.

“I don’t want that one!” Kusano protested as he spotted the wheelchair.

“Well you have to, you wont be able to see your friend if not!” his dad said matter-of-factly and helped his son up in the chair. “And it’s only temporary until you can walk properly again”

Kusano knew that, he just hated the stupid wheelchair anyway.

Arriving at the hospital it went faster to get up and threw the halls with the wheelchair than walking. Coming ahead of his dad, Kusano knocked on Yamashita’s door before he entered.

Closing the door behind himself he left the wheelchair and crawled over to Yamashita’s bed. “Oi… Yama-chan…” Kusano said while panting. How bloody heavy it was to crawl these days!

“Mmmm?” came from Yamashita’s sleeping figure.

“Hironori is here, oh” Kusano fell down onto the floor again. Raising himself up he sat down onto the chair that was standing beside the bed. “Tomo-chan!” he said and squeezed his boyfriends arm.

“… Ha..i…” Yamashita opened his eyes slightly.

“Heya…” Kusano lent closer to Yamashita. “How are you?”

“Tired, heh…” Yamashita said nearly hear able. Kusano sure knew that feeling.

“Were you hurt very badly?” Kusano’s eyes travelled down Yamashita’s body. It was not much to see though, the blanket covered all of him.

“Just my right side…” he said as if he was dosing off.

“No no no, stay with me na!” Kusano squeezed Yamashita’s hand again. “OI!” Kusano got up from his chair, “Don’t fall asleep okay? No good shall come from it! … or you would be better of sleeping, but that’s not the point” bending down he planted a soft kiss on his lover’s lips.

A thought that did not come to Kusano’s mind, was that his dad was watching the scene from the door.
