Just To Make You Happy

Chapter 1: Jealousy

Akanishi Jin.

Joking around.

Yamashita Tomohisa.

Watermelon.

Angrily dipping his head onto the pillow beside him, he grunted into it as his eyes glinted fiercely as if wanting to rip the pillow into gazillion pieces.

Kusano hated it whenever he watched the Summary DVD; the performance was fine really, it’s just that, the backstage pissed him off ever so much.

Of course, it wasn’t the whole of the backstage that pissed him off, there were bits here and there where it showed how absolutely cute and sexy he was, and the camera was towards him quite a lot.

But the fact that there were FAR TOO MANY scenes where his lover was hanging around that... spaghetti-headed boyfriend-stealer, Akanishi Jin... he loathed it.

No, he wasn’t jealous. Definitely not. He’s just so jealous of Jin that he could almost feel the urge to go up to Yamapi and say “Look, how about we break up? If you want to be with Jin then fine, yeah, go ahead...”

NO! He was not going to do that. No way. No way was he giving in to some… spaghetti-headed boyfriend-stealer such as Akanishi Jin. But... if it could make Yamapi happy, then... why not?

Come to think of it, Yamapi seems to be so much more open when he’s around Jin than when he’s around him. Maybe it’s some sort of hinting? To signal him that they’re going to break up soon?!

More thoughts ran through Kusano’s head; for none of them could he work out a correct answer. That was because the more he’s thinking of it, the more he finds himself a barrier, in between Yamapi and Jin. Maybe he should just get out of this mess and live a happy life before it gets completely screwed up the day Yamapi tells him they were going to break up?

And just about a minute ago, he was planning to do the same. Stupid. Was the only word he could come up with, over and over again.

Perhaps really, he should just stay out of this...

Morning came fast; it was just as if a few minutes have past. Kusano woke up with hair sticking out here and there – sofa’s to be blamed for screwing his hair up, and the quite-noticeable eye bags he had weren’t helping much.

Hiro nii-chan!” One of his sisters came over and tapped him on the shoulder, “Kaa-san said you should be awake and off to work already--- ne ne, lazy pig!”

Kusano sat up, patting his sister on the head while bending down to give her a swift kiss on the cheek, “Hai hai, wakatta. Will Hiromi help me prepare a small breakfast so I can take to work to eat?”

Hiromi’s eyes gleamed with happiness as she gave him a hug in return before skipping off to the kitchen, “Hai! I’ll be adding lots and lots and LOTS of love into it too nii-chan!”

Smiling to himself, Kusano slowly made his way towards his own room, grabbing his usual attire (t-shirt and jeans) and headed for the toilet, only to be greeted by his other imouto who was brushing her teeth, “Noriko, I’m in a hurry, let me use the toilet first... please?”

Noriko passed on a glare; she wasn’t really the friendly-to-brothers type of girl, neither was she friendly to any boys really. She preferred being cool, and she was, “No. Go line up.”

Kusano made a ‘huh’ face and got into the toilet, placing his clothes onto the bench before giving his sister a shove, “Hiromi’s downstairs making breakfast now hurry and leave...”

Hearing that only made Noriko want to slow down even more, and as usual, being the cocky sister she is, she slowed down, humming a tune as she leisurely brushed her teeth.

The brunette was near explosion, watching his sister cleansing like a snail, “NORIKO!!! Fuckin’ get outta the damned toilet!”

A voice then broke through them two, “HIRO-CHAN! Watch your language please!” his mother called and he quickly shut up, sending a glare to Noriko who grinned evilly and finally moved out of the toilet.

Brushing his teeth, showering and changing into his clothes in a good 15 minutes, he spent the next 15 fixing his hair before he made his way down the stairs, back into the living room where Hiromi stood waiting for him to take the obento into his hands.

“I’m going now kaa-chan!” He beamed and took the obento from Hiromi, patting her on the head again, “See ya later Hiromi!” he then turned his attention to his evil sister.

“Bye bratttt...!” He mumbled and hopped into his sneakers and finally leaving the house to the studio where they’ll be having photo-shooting.

“Good morning, everyone!” He yelled and dived into Massu and Tegoshi who were standing in front, oblivious to his presence.

“WOAH!--- Kusano you scared the hell outta me!” The older one laughed and nudged the boy off his back, “Oh, and leader’s looking for you. He said he’ll be waiting at the usual place for you, um... you do know where that is yeah?”

“Yup.” He answered simply and went off to get changed.

Having to cope with the whole Yamapi business last night wasn’t easy, and since he had summed up a conclusion as to what to do to solve this issue, he was going to have to face it.

As much as he wanted to stop himself from doing so, he was going to have to do this, just so Yamapi could be happy again. In other words, they will be breaking up. Oh how great.

Kusano bit his bottom lip, blinking the tears which were about to fall down and gave himself a gentle slap on the cheeks, smiling into the mirror as a refreshment. Yosh...! You will do this Kusano Hironori!

Not long till the photo shooting will start, Kusano jogged his way towards the usual place a.k.a the not-often-used meeting rooms in that studio and spotted Yamapi spinning on one of the chairs until he stopped and smiled at him.

Yo Kusano!” came the cheery greeting.

Kusano walked over and waved a hand lazily in the air, motioning a hi, “What’s up?”

“Nothing really, just thought I’d tell you about yesterday when I slept over at Jin’s place! You know...”

Yamapi’s voice slowly trailed off his mind at the mentioning of Jin’s name. For the second time today, he felt like crying, he felt hurt and he felt unwanted.

Maybe... I should just tell him now? Kusano sighed as Pi’s voice slowly blended back into his mind.

“... and well, he sort of screwed up one of the pillows--- I told him not to throw it at me so hard but---!”

Ne Pi!...Kusano’s voice cut him off. He stopped, and ‘hmm’ed for him to continue.

Promptly grabbing the blonde by the wrist, he pinned him against one of the walls and pushed his lips on top of Yamapi’s, kissing him hungrily.

Thinking this would last longer, Yamapi felt the younger one part away.

“What did you feel?” Kusano asked, eyes piercing into Pi’s as if to seek for an answer.

Yamapi blinked, and chuckled, “What do you mean what did I feel... you silly...”

“I’m asking you, what did you feel...?!” The brunette repeated, this time much more harshly.

“Eh...?” Was the only reply he got.

Kusano released Yamapi’s boney wrists, hands sliding back down to his side, “Yappari...”

The blonde had a rather confused and lost expression on his face, he placed a hand on Kusano’s cheek and stared into him worryingly, “What’s wrong Kusano...? Did something happen?---”

“Pi, let’s break up.”

“... what?” Yamapi breathed out, hands trembling as it fell down to Kusano’s shoulders, slowly sliding off him, “... what... what did you... just...say...?”

“I said...” He inhaled, holding back his temper, “... let’s break up.”

Yamapi could barely believe his ears, more like he couldn’t believe this was Kusano standing in front of him.

“What?...---wh-why?” He squeaked silently, heart feeling as painful as if he had just been stabbed right through.

“I thought... maybe you would be happier...” Kusano continued, “If... you were with... someone else... you know, someone else other than... me.”

“NO!” The blonde nearly screamed, clutching onto Kusano’s shirt tightly and leaning onto his build, literally crying into his shoulder, “No... why... I don’t get it, Kusano... why...!”

Gomen Pi... gomen...” He stroked the boy’s hair, somewhat hugging him close by the head, “I just want you to be happy... that’s all, please... don’t cry.”

All those words seemed to be ignored by the older one as he continued sobbing louder into his chest, digging his face into it, “Kusano...! I don’t... I don’t want this... I’m happy to be with you... why are you... – I... I don’t get it Kusano... I don’t!!!...”

At the same time, a certain tall figure walked by and stopped at their doorway, staring at the two.

Kusano--- eh, Pi... wha—why are you crying Pi?!” It was Jin. Akanishi Jin. His eyes almost popped out at the scene affront.

Yamapi looked up from Kusano’s chest, turning his head to where Jin stood before rushing over to him, hugging him and continuing to cry, “J-Jin...! Please--- can we... go somewhere... away from this place, onegai...!!!”

Jin wrapped an arm protectively over Yamapi, looking up at Kusano and giving him a dangerous look, You’ll pay for this, Kusano... for making Pi cry, you'll pay.

Kusano looked down, ignoring it as he heard the crying fade off... they were probably far down the hallway now.

I just... want him to be happy...

There’s no regretting Hironori... no regretting. He mentally noted himself before he proceeded to return to the studio, getting ready for photo-shoots.

“Eh, Yamashita-san left? Then I suppose we’ll have to re-schedule his photo-shooting date...” He heard one of the cameramen say.

Yamapi...
